very nice place to eat, indoor and outdoor, not fancy food but tasty, near Aare river and walking area, and a beach for swimming time, at 15min walk. Perfect for relaxing time, kid friendly with litlle kids area, in the heart of nature.
Parking is free but only 5places, but up the hill is blue parking on streets in 30km/hour area.
Small, quaint restaurant on the bank of the river
At 11:00 am on a weekday, i wanted to stop quickly for a coffee, my baby had finally fell asleep and i could enjoy 10min sitting calm. I was rushed out with the excuse that the tables were all booked for lunch and even a coffee was out of question (?!) they wanted me to go to an other area but the stones on the floor would have woken up my baby. Too bad they are so rigid.
A hidden gem! A small, casual restaurant right at the Aare River. Located in a nature reserve, the restaurant is best accessed on foot or ferry boat (there is also a small car parking lot nearby). Small but tasty selection of lunch, snack and dessert items. Great place for dogs and children: they have a 'dog bar' (with water bowls) and a playground. There are several vegetarian options. The staff was friendly and professional. A relaxing place to rest on your walk along the river.
This restuarant has such a beautiful location! The food is very good too, but I mainly like it for its location by Aare. The walk from Bern to Fähribeizli along the river is lovely! What makes it especislly nice are all the animals you see when passing the animal park.

Great service, clean, friendly and children are welcome. It's a safe place for children to play in outside next to the river in the play area.
